      Good question Sarah!

I wouldn’t say it was harder to do, it just took soooo much longer to do! Once I tell Janus what we want her to do, whether it is treating cancer cells with different drugs or looking for new compounds from different environments, she can work 24/7, while I’m at home in bed!

Another good thing about Janus is that she doesn’t get tired or make mistakes, unlike us humans. That means that we get the same result whether the experiment is carried out on a Monday morning or a Friday afternoon. That’s really important as we always need to repeat our experiments at least three times so it must be reliable, or nobody will trust your results.

Getting Janus has meant that lots of different groups can now do thousands of important experiments simultaneously, saving money, time and hopefully lives.
